Whiz Kidz Preschool

I worked at this center until they let me go because they didn't want a black teacher in their preschool room, despite me being an award winning, heavily experienced teacher. Patrizia didn't believe I graduated high school, despite me bringing my Washington DC Board of Education, official high school transcripts in to Patrizia. The head of the Washington DC Board of Education even called Patrizia and verified that my high school transcripts were legit and Patrizia still refused to believe that my transcripts were real. The entire time I was at the school, every academic preschool lesson I came up with was knocked down by Patrizia. The school had NO materials at all and refused to buy any materials that were over $20, despite them getting a $19,000 grant from the school-based company, Lakeshore to buy materials for the school. The school has a male teacher there that has some serious "pedophile tendencies," and I told this to Patrizia, I was given a dismissive response, and that pedophile tendency male teacher is still working in the preschool room today. The preschoolers and the pre-k kids in the room are not being taught their alphabets, numbers, colors, or shapes and so they're going to Kindergarten unequipped academically because the teachers are not teaching the children the academics that they need to know and when I tried to teach them, I was subtly discouraged and dismissed. Also, the director talks about the parents negatively behind their backs, including talking about the mother of one little girl named "Sophie," the mother of one little boy named "Henry," and the mother of one little boy named "Sawyer" Yet, Patrizia gets in front of these parents' faces and pretends to be such the kind, caring and respectful director. The other teachers at the school treat the children as if they're robots, they show no love or tenderness towards the children and one time, one teacher grabbed a little boy, who I'll refer to by his last name, which is "Rogers," by his shirt collar and roughly yanked him very hard over to her and when we told the assistant director and Patrizia about it, nothing was done but ridiculous excuses were made for the teacher and it was stated that the father of "Rogers" was informed and that the father forgave the teacher who committed this abusive act, which we believe was a lie, we believe the father was never informed. The teachers and staff would walk past my classroom (where I worked as a teacher with my sister, who's also an award winning teacher with numerous years of experience) numerous times during the day, watching and surveilling us from the hallway and even once, Patrizia had several, different teachers leave their classrooms, (causing their classrooms to not be in proper ratio) to monitor and watch us because Patrizia said we couldn't be alone with the children at any time, despite us having Arizona fingerprint clearance cards that showed that we have a spotless, criminal-free background and have never done anything harmful towards children ever. However, we realized we were being watched and monitored in this way because we were black and Patrizia and the school didn't trust two black teachers around the children alone. So, if you are black and a teacher, do NOT work here, you will not get treated right by anyone at Whiz Kidz, and they will hire you just for licensing and then once licensing comes and leaves, they will get rid of you and hire a white teacher in your place, because they don't want black teachers in any role except for infant teacher or floater, but not as a lead or assistant teacher. If you have a child and you want your child to have quality love and care and you want your child to truly get an education, Whiz Kidz is not the place for your child, your child will learn NOTHING there except for how to do yoga, and dance to music, but nothing academic.
