Customer Review Summary: 1. If I could give zero stars I would. I would Not Recommend her to anyone. She denied to help me at a time I needed to get my life on track. I have a week left for Disability and I needed help. She didn't respond and left me hanging2. Assome lady I would not go to anyone else if I needed her again3. Helen was both professional and responsive throughout the year or so that she helped me with my disability case. She is extremely knowledgeable, and no matter what came up, she was calm, prepared, and had a plan of action. I eventually won my case with her help and am deeply grateful for her expertise and kindness.4. This is not the first time I have had to hire a lawyer, but this is the first time I have written a raving review for one. Ignore the bad reviews. People who can't prove they NEED SSDI or SSI don't get it. Helen will take your case if she think she can win, or at least that's the reputation she has at the Dept. of Health and Human Services, but she only has YOUR medical history and YOUR testimony to work with. Helen won my case for both SSDI and SSI. Helen has a FULL STAFF of professionals. Communication was a breeze. As someone who is in need of social security I can't sing her praises enough.6. She really is the only person around here who does ssi/disability. If you do your research and understand the process then you will have no problems getting through the process with Helen. She seems to be the down home humble type and she can relate to a lot of us. This process is a long one and you won't always hear back from her or her office for months at at time. But rest assured as soon as she has anything for you she will contact you. Constantly calling and emailing her isn't gonna make the process go any faster. I feel the reason for some of her bad reviews is just for the fact the folks seem to think your lawyer is supposed to do everything for you and she should always be contacting you and it the lawyer jobs to make things go faster. That just ain't so. You have to advocate for yourself just as well as your lawyer and the more you can do on your own is gonna help you both. Your lawyer is there to compliment you and help your understand the legal jargon. They are not to be at your beck and call so do your part so your lawyers hands and mind can be free to prepare your case and leave the most pertinent part to your lawyer that's what they are there for. So as I stated before please do your research on what exactly it is your lawyer is supposed to help with and how long the process takes so you won't be disappointed when you start the process and give the lawyer a bad review just because you don't understand the process. Be patient and kind and Helen and her office with be patient and kind to you. She will have your back til the end. Sorry for the rant just want folks to understand the process better and take it easy on the lawyer. Good luck to all.7. She is unequivocally the worst of me I've ever ran across. She was my girlfriend's disability lawyer my girlfriend got denied disability because her "diabetes was not severe enough" .. thing is is my girlfriend never has had diabetes.!? Helen Zane was very unresponsive she ended up dropping her client (my girlfriend) .because she didn't like the fact that I called her out on being very unprofessional. These are positive reviews must be her friends because she's the worst do not hire her!!8. This Woman Saved My Life she's always there when you need her she's the best disability lawyer in town I recommend her highly there's no other disability lawyer I would go to I won my case because of her I literally am alive because of her thank you Helen God bless you9. I am a case manager at an agency that assists individuals who have experienced traumatic brain injuries. Our agency assisted a client in hiring Helen after his initial social security claim, and subsequent request for reconsideration, were both denied. Helen assisted my client throughout the process of preparing for the hearing. Even with the added complication of the covid-19 shutdown, Helen was able to help my client successfully navigate through entire hearing process and he was finally awarded benefits. Throughout the process, Helen was thorough, responsive, and professional. All of our questions were answered quickly and clearly, and she made sure we always knew what to expect every step of the way.10. Helen Zane handled our case with professionalism and determination to get our clients social security disability awarded. Her ability to communicate and work with the disabled client (survivor of brain injury) is commendable!
