Seaside Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center

Seaside Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center is the research and practice center of Dr. H. Jack Tran. He is a board-certified dermatologist in both the United States and Canada, and a trained Mohs surgeon. Dr. Tran was born and raised in Orange County, California. He moved to the Bay Area for his undergraduate studies where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science in only three years by Stanford University. He was one of only eight students nationwide to receive a full merit-based scholarship to attend Harvard Medical School, where he obtained an MD and a PhD. His research at Harvard focused on the genetic mechanisms of aging and was published in journals such as Science. After completing his dermatology residency at New York University, Dr. Tran practiced in a private dermatology specialty group in New York City. In New York City, he conducted skin cancer research at both Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Rockefeller University. His groundbreaking work in the journal Cell laid the foundation for the publication of a paper on melanoma metastasis. Dr. Tran has continued these efforts as a skin research and editor. He's one of the few to do both research and practice, has a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Reconstructive Surgery, the most powerful skin cancer surgery.
