I applied for an Executive Assistant position on LinkedIn and was contacted by Molly to schedule a time to discuss the position. I followed the link and scheduled a time for today (Thursday, March 2nd, at 11:30 am). I received a confirmation email after scheduling the call; that is the only contact I received since the original contact from Molly inviting me to schedule the call. I was ready and waiting for the call at the scheduled time today and received no call. I went to my email to ensure I had the day and time correct, and the Google Calendar tile in the confirmation email from several days ago said, "this event has been canceled." I'm Sorry?
It is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful to cancel on a prospect who YOU invited to a call and not inform them or give them a reason. I had no idea and wasted my time waiting for a phone call. If the role had been filled or the employer withdrew the position, fine, but don't ghost the person who you invited to discuss the position. This shows a severe lack of respect for the applicant's time and emotions.
I have reached out to Molly on two separate platforms for answers and clarity on the situation and have received no reply.
