Marcia, who was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, travelled from East London to New York City and then to California. These locations have influenced the style and imagination of this brand. Marcia is also a seasoned dancer and performer. She achieved fame in the 1980s when she was recognised as a Tina Turner and Whitney Houston impersonator while on tour with Pepsi Cola’s “Star Search.” Dance and colour were always around Marcia. Her daughter Marlena, who grew up in this environment, followed her mother’s footsteps as a burgeoning fashionista. Marlena has adopted and enhanced the boutique’s rich heritage and vision. We were looking for more sizes because we found that most clothing was for a narrow range of body types, making many women feel excluded.
