ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Sotomayor Arts and Sciences Magnet inspires students to develop a deeper love of academic achievement and career exploration. Our school goal is to provide the academic experience necessary for various work experiences. Students learn how art and science interact when they are selected into our school. They can choose elective courses including art, Agriscience, Technical Theatre, and Robotics. We have a comprehensive athletics program for Grades 9-12. Advanced Placement courses are offered in English, Science, Math, and Visual Arts. Our class size is capped at 27 students, giving teachers time to know students and personalize their learning. We hope to serve all LAUSD students and support them in achieving their goals. The three classes in the Performing Arts Pathway help students improve their creativity and technical skills. The pathway is designed to ensure that students are good presenters, speakers, and thinkers. Students learn that Los Angeles is famous for its Entertainment industry and that one possible outcome of the Performing Arts Pathway is employment. Theatre is an art form that requires collaboration, and our students work together on everyday projects, and each are taught to have self-confidence, discipline, and motivation. In the past, students in this program have received full scholarships to some of the best theatre schools in the country. Visual Arts Sotomayor's Visual Arts program allows students to explore the theory, history, and foundations of traditional and fine art, graphic design, and other creative fields. This Level 1 visual arts program introduces students to a wide range of materials and techniques, from traditional drawing and painting techniques to digital design tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to silkscreen printing. The pathway prepares students for immediate employment in Graphic Design, Illustrator, Digital Design, and related fields such as Public Practice, Curatorial, Museum Studies, and Exhibition Conceptualization and Display. SUMMARY   Reviews Summary

Not all reviews present a clear picture. All reviews seem to praise the school but mention that it is good, and the staff and teachers are the best. However, the second opinion is challenging to understand as it's Google-translated from another language and implies some joyous news. The school idea is widespread with many praising it as a whole, specifically the faculty. The information provided is not complete, making bad feedback about the facility, teachers, or any services hard to identify. On the other hand, it praised the quality of teachers and met the school's teaching standards. The reviews present a positive story regarding the school and its community's opinion.
