Ashton Gallery is located in North Park's busy Arts & Culture District, covering 8000 sq. ft. Kate Ashton, an artist/teacher/mentor, founded it. She has been part of the San Diego arts community since 2001. Our gallery features a blend of traditional and contemporary art. It represents local, professional artists specializing in contemporary art. There is a monthly juried exhibition at the gallery. It provides room for artists to exhibit their work and complements San Diego's vibrant art scene. Our professional artists are showcased in one of our galleries and lobby throughout the year. Each artist we represent has been through an artist mentoring program. This ensures the artists continue to grow. They gain from being part of a supportive community. Artists benefit from the invaluable criticism provided. Ashton Gallery’s main focus is on the artists it represents. It is a gallery of artwork that people want to have in their daily lives. Ashton notes that the artists he represents are making artwork that people would love to have at home. It is art that can be passed down to future generations. Artists selling prints and giclees at large markets make original art a guarantee for all the artists we represent. We do not sell them. The artwork is unique and hand signed by the artist. It will never be mass-produced. Every original piece comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The art gallery and teaching art school is overall a beautiful space, promising versatile experiences. While the gallery itself has received much praise, the parking has been a little difficult for some. As for the art, "nice" and "great" seem to be the words to describe the gallery walls. The artists account for much of that greatness and are worthy of some praise—worthy of both viewing and buying their work.
