Ken's Auto Center is a San Diego-based company owned by Ken, a man whose story is a little bit different. Born abroad, after moving to San Diego, he cherished his childhood memories. They include cycling through the city streets, including College Grove and State University. He enjoyed exploring empty lots and streets as he rode back home every night. Ken’s fears of hard work have been non-existent. At the age of twelve, he began his paper route. This continued throughout high school, even as he played football and baseball for the Crawford High teams. However, what defined his day was his 4 a.m. routine as he went to work. After that hour of sleep, he went to school, practiced sports, or participated in a game. Past his busy schedule, the 57 Bel Aire Chevrolet two-door hardtop was his love for cars. Ken's father, an expert at fixing family cars, mentored him, hence his passion for vehicle repair. Ken later moved to Arizona Automotive Institute after graduating from high school. After graduation, he came back to San Diego and worked at City Chevrolet, Morena Blvd. His total span as a mechanic was about 20 years. During those years, Ken saw a commonality in the repair shops he passed by; that was lack of honesty or customer service. Most customers were not knowledgeable about auto repair and put their trust in the shops to inform them and conduct the repair work. This aspect is still missing in several shops, according to Ken. “I wanted a shop where trust wouldn’t be a concern. A shop prioritizing honesty and customer care. A shop I’d wish to visit myself”, he said as he narrated his experience. This led to the creation of Ken's Auto Center, a dream he had as a child. My shop is open to customers with any challenge. They can drive out without a thing. I was awarded the title "The Fixer" from years in watch repair. My years of experience in watch repairs have earned me the title "The Fixer". I am always excited to fix customer cars in my shop. My customers and employees are happy about this. I am glad to have capable auto repair technicians who also have good customer service. These technicians communicate transparently with the customers, and always make sure their vehicles are well taken care of. This makes them feel confident and willing to bring their vehicle to me for any other repair services they may need. Finally, they will be willing to refer their friends, family members, and workmates who need auto repair services in Ken's Auto Center.
