Dr. Durschlag and Dr. Adams pursued post-doctoral orthodontic residencies after completing dental school to become orthodontic specialists, providing San Diego with some of the best smiles. Dr. Adams and Dr. Hayes are pediatric dentists as well, and they have treated many children in our city.
Braces work through a natural biological process called bone remodeling. The teeth move in a given direction depending on the type of appliance used. Depending on patient needs, Dr. Durschlag may add rubber bands or other appliances to braces to help align the teeth and bite.
Braces are an amazing way to improve the look, function, and health of your teeth and bite. Since braces remain in place during therapy, they are more convenient for some patients who may forget or misplace their clear aligners. Many of our younger patients enjoy braces as they can use colored elastics to customize them.
