Attention Disabled Veterans and anyone who has had a hard life DO NOT GO TO BUTTERFLY DENTAL at 4302 Moorpark Avenue in San Jose. I literally walked out mid-appointment because the doctor, I believe her name was Dr. Qwong (female) she basically made fun of me for having missing teeth. Was friendly at first, but now looking back she was really condescending to me. Now, I ONLY came to Butterfly Dental after messaging back and forth for weeks with them, which means I told them that I had missing teeth and I needed to get implants. I also was VERY CLEAR that I have anxiety about dentists and I would absolutely need to be completely sedated for any root canals, teeth pulled, etc. and they replied very nicely that they understood my situation and that would be no problem they could refer me to a specialist, and for me to just come in for a consultation. Well, the front office girl was super sweet, but the dental hygienist assistant was really not friendly at all. I did not feel comfortable to ask her any questions. Then the most terrible thing is they have this very archaic system to get dental x-rays, which for someone that has a lot of missing teeth, trying to bite down on this hard and uncomfortable metal object and then hold it still in my mouth while she took the x-ray was just stupid really. Every other dental office I have been to has the latest technology for dental x-rays, meaning, I really never had to even open my mouth, a scanner would quickly take x-rays and boom you were done. So their equipment is really old and outdated, I mean she rolled the x-ray thing in on a rickety old plastic cart, it was just terrible. Also, I am not someone who writes reviews about businesses but the way I was treated at BUTTERFLY DENTAL CARE Is absolutely appalling and after discussing what happened to me with other fellow Veterans, they all told me that I needed to let the public know about this place. Also, before the doctor practically laughed in my face while telling me that I had "nubs for teeth" she said that they were going to "yank out the nubs and then it would be a while before any implants would be placed!" I said "I'm not going to be walking around with no teeth! She was like, "Oh I'm talking about the back ones." Now, also, the reason I have missing teeth is for a few reasons, but basically I hadn't been to a dentist office for many years because of my anxiety of dental work, as I've had many issues in the past. So as I'm trying to tell her all this and that I basically would need to be referred to a specialist, she looked at me like she was offended and she said well we numb you up real good, as if that was going to work for me... meaning she didn't even listen to me. Then to top it off she kept asking me what my last dentist recommended to which I was thinking ? who cares, what are you going to do? I mean I don't know if she just graduated dental school or what her problem was but she was very immature and I actually got up and walked out in the middle of the appointment with that little paper towel around my neck that's how disgusted I was with her attitude. So basically if I could give them a negative score, I absolutely would. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE TERRIBLE! Not only willl they make you feel awful if you don't have perfect teeth, they are not up to date on their equipment, which if you're like me and we pay a lot for dentistry, you should receive excellent care. This place is below sub par and I wouldn't' be surprised if there was a rat or two lurking around the office.
