ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

MEXICAN HERITAGE PLAZA (MHP or La Plaza) is an innovative cultural center located in the Mayfair neighborhood of east San Jose, where a significant number of Mexican Americans have lived since the mid-20th century. In 1999, the City of San Jose built MHP on the former location of the Mexican American community's first boycott of grocery stores in support of farm worker rights. In 2007, the City of San Jose began seeking a new use for La Plaza. After a community assessment, La Plaza was designated for a school for arts and culture. The Steering Committee, which was formed in 2009 to develop an action plan, recommended establishing the School of Arts and Culture (SOAC), a plan accepted unanimously by the City Council in 2010. SOAC was established as a nonprofit on July 11, 2011, and became the MHP operator on September 4, 2013.

SUMMARY   Reviews Summary

The Cultural Center of East San Jose has received excellent reviews from its patrons. The site has an array of community events, like the exciting "Dia de los Muertos" festival, providing a cultural experience for families. Professional music classes for children are also available for an affordable fee. Reviews also indicate the surroundings are comfortable and accommodating, viewers also enjoyed the buildings and gardens. Place is beautiful and modern, and parents and students are happy with the site and appreciate the opportunity they have had to learn and perform. This community cultural center is described as a wonderful asset; whether by latitude in the outdoor space or through the lessons which are fascinating and serious, this location is frequently visited by people. It is an area to be visited, and I recommended the others to visit. The meeting was also clean and the sanitize used in the reward. The place was also filled with people, but there was no crowding place. Another important thing is the presence of the parking lot, such that you do not need to worry about parking space for you because there are specific areas reserved for parking. With such a secure location and reasonable charges, it is an ideal condition for taking your child for training. Low resources are needed, and there is no reason for you not to take your child for training. The place is also described as safe, and customers shall not fear for the security of their children. Sitting next to your child during training gives you a sickness of mind because it is a safe place for training. This is so important and beneficial to the clients, and I recommend more clients because training is done at the right place. The place is also fun, and the people attending the meeting were joys people because there were other occasions that took place including week, and the people attending the meeting were joyful. Equally, when such a situation happens, you are also fun because you are surrounded by fun people.
