Greek revival in the Dwight neighborhood of New Haven Ct. was a multifamily from the 1930s. My client and I gutted and remodeled it. All the millwork was custom made to suit the original. Every trim exterior is made of cypress. All the railings, columns and newels are made from mahogany. Previously, there was a chimney and a wall between the living room and the cooking area. Both were taken down when the kitchen was gutted. When you look at the original photo, it is obvious that the window of the living room was raised. On either side of the house, small extensions were made, so the homeowners could have a half-bath, breakfast nook and mudroom. All the Marvin windows are a good design with a nice trim that is very similar to the rest of their house. The house was carefully matched with all the moldings. The addition has a lower profile than the main house, as the windows are covered. This is the only 1925 door that was removed in this house, but three other 1910 doors remain.
