Eugene Quinn is featured in the Coquina Gallery. A look at one of Gene Quinn's paintings is akin to reading a journal entry from a life spent painting. Born in Florida, Gene Quinn is an artist gypsy and has won several awards from the East Coast tradition he comes from. Presently, he resides in Jacksonville Beach, painting to record and experience in his settings. It seems that Quinn has always been an artist. The day he was offered his college's first show to exhibit a painting, Quinn was jubilant. This was a unique moment when he began to imagine that he could live off art and enjoyed it. His journey into the world of art began when he was studying art and history at Providence College, and later the Art Students League. He was also taken under the guidance of Ridgewood Art Institute and started selling his art at Chelsea Gallery's local show that expanded to the New England market. With his mentorship from a recognized artist, he made it to Cape Ann's historic colony, where he established his gallery. After many winters in Florida art events, he moved back to Florida, where he established the Coquina Studio, Jacksonville Beach. Quinn paints because he loves beauty, and he feels the Studio is the same as the ocean from Rockport MA.
