Original Founding Name: Nova University of Advanced Technology (Fort Lauderdale)
Founders: A group of local businesspeople, known as "The Oatmeal Club".
Inception: 1964
Infrastructure: Originally located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the college was later moved to Forman Field (Davie), an auxiliary World War II airfield donated to the community by the War Assets Administration for educational purposes.
Background: An educational model was sought by local businesspeople, led by the Oatmeal Club. A model so unique to the South it would prove that service to the community and educational excellence create new standards.
Multi-Disciplinary: While we were rooted in the natural and social sciences since our inception, our offerings have expanded to include multiple programs in such areas as education, law, computing, computer engineering, and psychology.
Innovative: Our distance education programs are recognized across the country. Many of our field-based programs are found on select international sites, as well as at regional campuses across Florida.
