I have deep Nashville roots. I graduated from the University of South Carolina and the University of North Florida. For decades, my work has been displayed in both private and public collections. I was Artist in Residence in Duval County, and currently work in the CoRK Art District in Riverside. The satisfaction of finding new ways to paint or discovering them in simple and profound connections is how the human experience is never lost in my art. Artists have a purpose. We bring out the beauty in an otherwise ugly world. Truth to me is an artist's interpretation of a lie. I paint people, faces, and the figure, or more accurately, my paintings are drawn to them. It is because I feel I am looking for an emotional connection. I also want it to speak about us, our history, and our humor. It is a simple gesture that can be easily recognized and subtle nuances in the body language that the viewers might get.
