UR Beauty & Barber Academy

At UR Beauty & Barber Academy, our Cosmetology and Barbering program also includes Full Specialist Nail Technology. You will also find a Salon where you can have your nails done. This program covers the following Cosmetology subjects, according to the OCPS CTE Framework: manicures, pedicures, nail extensions and hair styling. Students will learn make-up, eyebrows, nails, waxing, hair modifications and hair coloring. Modifications of hair include, but are not limited to, washing, cutting, styling, and coloring. This program also has a class on communication skills and human relations. After completion of the clock hours and other services, licensure will be granted in Florida. Post-licensure, students can work as a licensed cosmetologist or teacher in the beauty industry.   The Barbering program is for students who want to cut, shave, trim, wax, or modify hair. The program covers the subjects of washing, cutting, styling, shampooing, coloring and straightening of hair. This program also has a class on communication skills and human relations. After completion of the clock hours and other services, licensure will be granted in Florida. After being licensed, students can work in salons and shops as Barber or as teachers in the beauty industry.
