Celebration Language Institute

Celebration Language Institute's founder and director is Meire Damaceno. The attraction towards languages sprouted from varying circumstances. As a child, she lived in a small town in Brazil. As a result of this remote location, she was not able to communicate with the outside world. This instilled in her a deep desire to learn languages. Her interest in language grew and led her to pursue a degree in English with education at the University of Central Florida. Meire graduated from this university with her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education Magna cum Laude. Meire has 30+ years of experience in the education field. She has worked in both traditional and alternative schools in Orange County Public Schools. In the last ten years of her time there, she was a high school teacher teaching English, Reading, and ESOL. Meire holds certificates in English teaching, English as a Second Language, Reading, and Portuguese. Her career in education gave her the ability to identify students' problems and strengths. The techniques she used helped students to be more supportive and to have a positive image of themselves. This realization led to her new mission in life, a program that encouraged students to focus on what they did well, rather than what they did wrong. Her teaching and learning style is unique in that she makes students acknowledge their skills, positive attitudes and work quality as they prepare to move forward in their educational journey.
