She established Arts of Paradise Gallery with two pals in 1988 and Art Alternatives (a leasing service for art). She has worked in community arts for years. Susan is the illustrator of three children's book. She is a teacher at every stage, starting from scratch. Susan Brooks has a gallery/studio in Waikiki where she offers Beginning Art instruction 2 days a week to children and adults. She studied art in Southern California and learned many crafts and design approaches. She has won lots of awards. Her works have been displayed in Hawaii and on the mainland. Her paintings have sold well worldwide.
