University Laboratory School: A Hawai‘i Public Charter School

the University Laboratory School: A Hawai‘i Public Charter School, ULS Performing Arts Program strives to provide students with a well-rounded education and help them grow musically, academically, and socially. Students will learn to perform and appreciate music of different styles. The charter school has two related goals: create the best education for its students and act as a laboratory for education research and curriculum development for the educational community. ULS focuses on research and education, distributing materials for educational purposes, improving practices and methods, and participating in educational research projects, leadership, and innovation. Our school is an experiment in teaching, learning, and assessment in grades K-12 because of its diverse classes, research and innovation, and continuous professional development for in-service and pre-service teachers. The school's research and innovation programs involve participation in educational research projects, research leadership, and the development and evaluation of educational programs. Ranked high in the state for academic performance and extracurricular participation, ULS students consistently earn awards in music, art, speech, and writing, and they score high on tests and standardized exams. The school's students mostly pursue post-secondary education.
