Ballet Chicago was established in 1987 by dancer/choreographer Daniel Duell and ballerina Patricia Blair, determined to encourage and train young artists. Through classical ballet, the company develops life skills, enabling artists to explore and experience their potential. It's a place where character development is crucial. A person's tendu is as significant as their personality. This is the place. It is purposefully diverse, with foster children from the inner city living next to the middle class and wealthy people. We are not going to say who is who. Our school is where students realize their strengths and weaknesses. Success and disappointment are equally common. Every day, high expectations and genuine moments are expected. Our accelerated performance program is guided by a Balanchine Technique curriculum (c) and interacts with the George Balanchine Trust. Members spend years on stage, building self-assurance, camaraderie, and community. This performance group is also a training ground for a broad range of skills that can be adapted to the real world. Ballet Chicago's new works expand the company's masterpiece repertoire, which is only for professionals and a few of the most accomplished students globally. This commitment results in a performance record.
