Scott Freeman fell into jewelry at age 16 at a tiny watch-repair store, not yet aware it would lead to a successful career. He completed high school and went on to the prestigious Gemological Institute of America, earning a degree in Jewelry Manufacturing Arts and Diamond Grading. After graduation, Scott worked at the family-owned Schaumburg jewelry store, where he discovered how a business works. Scott purchased the 1918-era jewelry store at 1125 West Bryn Mawr Avenue when he was 25. Scott and Jill opened Bryn Mawr Jewelry Co. as a retail operation in 2004. They are the proud owners of a 100-year-old store with a century-old tradition. Bryn Mawr Jewelry Co. has grown steadily, becoming a custom, bridal, and gift jewelry boutique.
