About this business

Beyond the words on the building - Equal justice under the law is, and always has been, the most compelling aspiration of our society. Just as we pledge that every American has “liberty and justice for all,” all Americans have a right to equal justice. Equal justice is beyond a pledge—it is a necessity in substance and access. Everyone must access justice, irrespective of what it is and how much they earn. Sadly, too many people understand that equal justice is a slogan or myth rather than a reality. This is particularly true in civil cases, where an attorney is not guaranteed—meaning that if a low-wage family is unfairly thrown out, a child is abused by a spouse or scammed or forced to leave the country, they are on their own. Legal Aid Chicago was established to change this. We are the best agency delivering high-quality, free legal help to needful residents in Cook County.

Reviews Summary

The reviews of Legal Aid show unanimous praise for the work of Attorney Naeem Nulwala and the staff. Almost all reviews mention the exceptional service provided at no cost by the legal assistance clinic, calling it a life-changing experience. A former client reflects on the care and empathy shown by the attorneys while discussing the deep understanding and helpfulness of the team. Other important community services offered by the top lawyers involve housing rights advice and advocating for clients in eviction hearings and other disputes. Many clients said that Legal Aid had spared them from huge problems that could have been caused by lack of legal representation. Are numerous ways that people show their gratitude to this concern for the community among them? It is stipulated that if you are unable to afford a lawyer and you require assistance, Legal Aid is the place to go. The individuals' stories demonstrate how the law is conceptually made fair by providing assistance to those in need who cannot afford an attorney.

Colleen connolly legal aide employee who work for children guardianship case is racist. I gave her all type of emails text messages showing the truth. She had over whelming evidence and did nothing. She kept saying I was told old to be a guardian I was 56 she was trying to give me my grand children to the Paternal grand mother who was 65 who drink have lots of men and gangs in her house which she had proof of that who also had a case with Dcfs for beating her other grand children and almost killed a infant by giving the baby Benadryl to keep the baby sleep long. My first case I won in 2017 custody she was mad that I won and refuse to give me copies of the documents that the other attorney told her to give me. She was working with the racist Sophia Wilson and Debi of Cvls. In the last case There is a special please in hell for these racist a women. They give two f about African American children. They abuse they power. She sat back and watched these Racial lying gals tell lies about me. She sat back and watched me get tortured and did nothing. The truth is finally out that I was sat up continue to get set up and it make them look bad because the same evidence I send them I send to other judges. And Drs and teachers. They all look horrible for what they did to me. I also send it to legal aide director executive a d he did nothing
