Meet the Trophy Paws Groomers: My Sister & Me Trophy Paws is currently just me and my sister grooming. My sister is seven years older than me, and I have been in the industry for 11 years. In the past, we had Gypsy, a mixed German shepherd/lab girl. She was our universe. Gypsy was my lucky girl for 16 years. I had always been interested in grooming because of how she looked after a grooming session. As Gypsy grew older, she developed anxiety about getting her nails done. She was so scared of the salon where I used to take her. They didn't have a grooming team, so I started looking for a new job. When I brought Gypsy to Trophy Paws, she felt comfortable, and I realized that grooming was the job for me. My employer offered me a job, and a few years later, I was hired for the same job after passing a test and meeting the requirements. My sister decided to support me, and we opened a grooming shop. Fast forward 11 years later, and we still groom.

I just moved from DC and at the beginning of April was looking for a place to take my dogs to be groomed. I apparently signed up for an appointment May 23rd. However, I ended up taking my dog elsewhere to be groomed because it was too far out and didn't remember an appointment had been booked here. I never received a reminder that I had an appointment with them, I'm assuming it went to a junk folder. They never called to let me know that vaccines for the dogs hadn't been uploaded even though they are required to have your dogs groomed at this facility. They never sent me a notifications confirm the appointment. Then today I look at my account and they charged me a $100 dollar no show fee. As a potential first time customer, who dd not remember or get reminders you would think a business with any type of good customer service would have waived the fee or refunded the customer. I spoke with the owner and she argued with me even after hearing that I genuinely had no idea I had any appointment at her facility. She didn't care and refused. I'm sure the actual services at this business are fine. But you don't treat customers that way - period.
