Behind Enemy Lines

Behind Enemy Lines is a tale of courage and strength. I survived abuse, both physically and mentally, as a mother and spouse. I cannot forget to mention my beloved God, he has been the best friend I have ever had. I married an abusive man in 1978, right after my high school graduation. For over ten years, I felt like a prisoner. My three lovely daughters begged me to be strong. One night, I decided to drive 1200 miles to Indiana with 3 kids, no job, and broke. I chose to be somebody, to live, survive, and never allow my fellow victims to feel inferior. I started to regain my courage. In 1991, I enrolled in a college and earned a certificate as a Medical Assistant. I worked in Occupational medicine after graduation until my retirement. I later became a project manager at a large insurance firm and helped physicians to be paid fairly. I put my 401K in myself and married my soulmate in 1992. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and have a positive impact on the world. My dream was to be successful. In 2000, I started a hot dog cart business part-time. My company grew to four mobile carts, multiple food contracts, and private orders. I still have a passion for food and post food pictures on my Facebook page. I thought I would go back to medicine after a few years. My heart told me to be an Esthetician. Since I opened my studio in 2010, people always said my skin was always a mess.
