Patients consistently describe their experiences in P.B.H. as though they were rescued. Patients also expressed their gratitude for the staff members who cared for them like family. Psychiatrists who are sensitive, and well-informed can help address the patient's issue. They are surprised by the lack of mandated medication and the fact that they are frequently called by their preferred pronouns (usually shortened to "they/them/theirs"). There is also significant food gossip, including the enshrinement of a resident head chef, as well as attempts to engage patients with violent or orgasmic ideas in group therapy. This is revealed by the severe panic attack experienced by the patients.
