Marin University Background Information Martin University is a historical institution that has been helping adults in Indiana for over 50 years. The institution’s primary objective is to offer education to adults and nurture them. It is a predominantly black institution (PBI). Sister Jane Schilling and Reverend Father Boniface Hardin founded Martin University in 1977. They hoped to provide low-income and minority learners with an opportunity to be educated. Martin University has been there for individuals who seek education opportunities but do not have a privileged background. The institution is in the middle of inner-city academic obstacles. This is an independent, non-denominational liberal arts college. The institution was awarded over 1,500 alumni. Martin University provides an opportunity for the less privileged to learn. The learners it serves were initially disregarded, discouraged, and barred from the education process. Martin University has an interconnected and learning-centered environment. Streaming in the institution is the aspect of networking. This is a consideration of the institution’s commitment to providing access to opportunities and support for all people. The institution holds a high amount of Black students. The faculty and staff at Martin University are dedicated to helping students achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals. The majority of Martin University students are African American women over 25 years old. The institution provides financial aid to about 90% of its occupants (Martin University, 2021).

Overall, students were enormously positive about Martin University. Reviewers frequently emphasized the school’s extremely pleasant people, exciting events, and excellent performance. Graduates frequently say that the experience is like a family, with both teachers and students going above and beyond to make sure everyone gets what they want to be successful. The school stands out in a world where many other universities have been difficult and even impossible to navigate just to enter. One reviewer wrote in detail about the difficulty they encountered when trying to enroll in other schools. Another review mentioned just how welcoming the environment is. One person enjoyed the dorms and the campus’s nice overall appearance. Many reviews mention how proud the community, made up mostly of homeowners, is of their local campus, making it a fun and welcoming place to learn. In high school, another reviewer’s child applied to the college.
