However, companies must pay employees a fair amount of money to make a living wage. This influences how their life is structured. Companies pay their workers based on the social values that the company holds to be true. For example, if a company believes it is important for its employees to have enough income to provide food and shelter for their families, the company may pay its workers a wage that is based on the amount of money it costs to support that family. On the other hand, if a company feels that earning the most money possible is more important than making wages, the company may pay its workers based on the amount of money the worker can make, not by the amount of money it costs to support a family.
