First Construction, LLC History and Overview First Management, Inc., in Lawrence, Kansas, was incorporated in 1991 with Douglas J. Compton as its Owner. Compton started First Management when he purchased five apartment complexes in Lawrence with the goal of making them the best rental properties in the city. These properties consist of apartment and townhome complexes about to finish construction and many others that need a facelift. First Management provides management services to many of Lawrence's most beautiful properties. The construction department became First Construction, LLC in 2005. Since then, First Construction has completed nearly $500 million in greenfield site development for residential and commercial construction projects. In addition to undergoing $500 million of construction, First Construction value-engineers and provides all of the estimates – including the final one that will be the most utilized. The department has also seen another $200 million of third-party projects. They include student housing, banks, restaurants, shopping centers, city/community buildings, car dealerships, hotels, medical buildings, car washes, and university projects (Kansas State University, Kansas University, and Benedictine College) (First Management, 2021).
