Happy buyers frequently point to Harrison Family Motors as an example of excellent customer service. Respondents who choose to criticize focus on many of the same points. I interviewed ten customers in order to learn more information about the company, and they all said essentially the same thing. In particular, the owner and staff of Harrison Family Motors are friendly, courteous, and accommodating to customer scheduling. Buyers were more satisfied with their purchases than any suburban buyers I have ever met. Family-owned businesses like this one have a terrific future. The parent company should, however, be cautious about expanding too quickly. If rapid growth stretches the company too thin, customer service will most likely suffer. Harrison has shown that customer service will remain excellent if the company moves slowly. Not all customers have a joyful experience. A customer was able to borrow a 1996 civic Honda for a few weeks. The car was great while they drove it, but it started to smoke as they were driving it home from a shopping trip. Harrison cleaning the engine didn't solve the smoking problem and they decided to take the car to a different mechanic. The other mechanic informed them that the head gasket had probably blown and the head needed to be re-machined. The tint on the windows was also peeled and the shifting was almost impossible. The owner of the business, Hugh, did offer them a replacement, though he made them pay the DMV fees and car insurance. The customer has repeatedly attempted to contact Hugh about the fact that it is not possible to register a leased car in their yname, as the car was a used car. So far, they have not received any feedback. This is why they rate the dealership poorly. The best way to avoid this would be to have a licensed mechanic inspect the vehicle prior to purchase.
