Louisville Folk School (501C3 non-profit) mission is to involve Kentuckians in the folk music tradition through education and performance. It draws on the Bluegrass State's rich musical culture to promote community through the arts. Classes are held in the Clifton Neighborhood of Louisville, 225 N Clifton Ave., Room 4, Louisville KY 40206, in 8-week sessions in small groups. The price for each session is $180. LFS members may get 10% off classes and workshops. Folk School plans to encourage students to learn skills at every level in the curriculum and instructors can help students decide which class is best. Folk School encourages students to stay with a course until they are proficient enough to move on to the next level. For a solid foundation, it is recommended that students attend a class multiple times before moving on to the next level.
