MD Claiborne Dermatology: Uptown New Orleans since 1943 Dr. Martin D. Claiborne has been practicing dermatology in New Orleans for over 40 years. His undergraduate medical degree was earned at Washington & Lee University, Virginia. He returned to New Orleans after graduating from Tulane School of Medicine with distinction. He completed his residency in New Orleans at Charity Hospital, which was one of the leading trauma centers of its day. After completing his residency, Dr. Claiborne earned a dermatology specialty. In 1979 Dr. Claiborne became a member of the Drs. Muundt and Bradley, whose offices on Louisiana Avenue are now home to MD Claiborne Dermatology's flagship Uptown Office were opened in 1943. The Dr. Claiborne team worked together to help meet the increasing skincare requirements of New Orleans' Uptown. Mundt and Brad opened an additional two offices in Jefferson Parish and St. Bernard Parish. All three offices today are part of MD Claiborne Dermatology's legacy in Greater New Orleans. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Claiborne also serves as a medical member at Touro Infirmary and East Jefferson General Hospital. He is also a staff physician at Tulane Hospital, Ochsner St. Bernard Parish Medical Center, and Tulane Hospital. Dr. Claiborne is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He has been a Louisiana State Medical Society, Louisiana Dermatological Society, as well as the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Born and raised in New Orleans with a deep family connection to the state, he has also raised his family there. His wife of 35 years, Dr. W.C. Cole Claiborne, practices MD Claiborne Dermatology with him. Dr. Claiborne treats patients suffering from all types of skin ailments and diseases.
