About this business
The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts is committed to the conservation of the past of Fine Art, as well as its evolution into the future. Established in 1980, the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts moved to its current location at 5256 Magazine Street. NOAFA's inception has always been about promoting the classical tradition within the visual arts. The initial emphasis on Painting, drawing, and sculpture remains school; those classes are now complemented by film, ceramics, and photography, as well as youth programs and abstract and mixed media. NOAFA has been around for over forty years, and its campus is now home to two gallery spaces where we host community-building events to present internationally-recognized artists in a "salon-style" environment. For the faculty, teaching is a passion, and they meet students at their level. Faculty members all believe that learning how to look more carefully and developing your skill sets within the foundations of fine art can ultimately help individuals to improve themselves. This core principle has been consistent throughout the school's history. New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts' studios are currently full of joyous moments and creative thought, with a dedicated group of faculty, alumni, and students.
