Bay Cove Substance Abuse Center serves 250,000 individuals and their families annually. These people are struggling with intellectual, developmental, and substance use disorders, as well as homelessness and/or age-related problems. Our products and services are available in over 170 Metro Boston and southeastern Massachusetts programs (Baycove.org, 2019). A substance use disorder is a disease that can be harmful. It can affect the individual, the family, and everyone who helps. To help with substance abuse, Bay Cove has an array of services, such as detoxification, residential treatments, group and individual therapy, and outpatient treatment. Our programs are designed with an understanding that addiction is a medical condition. People with drug and alcohol addiction can lead healthy and productive lives. The ultimate aim of addiction therapy is long-term abstinence. However, the short-term objectives are to reduce the addiction problem and enhance the patient's functioning (NIDA, 2020).
