I have dreaded writing this negative review, for my route Boston revision rhinoplasty surgeon, as Dr. Derosa has such a wonderful bedside manner that we had come to feel like friends. Because of this, I left my original five star review up for six years since my Boston rhinoplasty surgery...Trusting my surgeon’s quarterly assurance that my nose would become smaller and my hump would go away.
Sadly, in reality, during the six years since my $16,000 Boston revision rhinoplasty surgery, over a dozen potential new patients “liked” my review...And may have gotten surgery based on the promise I was given, by Dr DeRosa, that my many surgical problems would correct themselves.
I patiently met with Dr. Derosa, 3 to 4 times a year, for six years, as she tried to correct all the problems her surgery left on my nose. I received countless painful needle shaves, to reduce the size of my new nose hump, each leaving my nose swollen and bruised for several weeks. I also suffered through many frighteningly painful injections into my septum… to shrink the size of it.
6 YEARS AFTER MY $16,000 NASAL SURGERY:
1. My deviated septum remains straight, but...my entire nose remains very noticeably MUCH larger than before surgery. When I look in the mirror, it feels like I am wearing a prosthetic, fake nose.
2. I continue to have a very noticeable hump on the bridge of my nose, which causes me insecurity, and probably costs me work as an actress.
3. My nostrils are larger than before, crooked and asymmetrical.
4. I have scar tissue blocking one nasal passage. Dr. Derosa stitches broke, shortly after surgery, she insisted there was nothing she could do.
5. I am forced to find another Boston nasal surgeon, to submit to all the risks of another nasal surgery, and to pay another $16,000 for the revision of her unsuccessful surgical work.
BONUS: What upsets me the most is that, FOR 6 YEARS, Dr. Derosa told me my poor surgical results were because I have a connective tissue disorder. This implied it was my fault that I ended up with a large hump on my now large nose, crooked nostrils and blocked nasal passage. It was only upon reading Dr DeRosa’s other Yelp reviews, by her other nasal surgery patients, that I realized they ended up with the same exact bad surgical results as me. Having a poor surgical outcome is one problem… Blaming the patient makes it much worse!
Don’t take my word for it. Read this Boston nose surgeon’s other reviews by her nasal surgery patients. Some have the same EXACT complaints as me: hump on the bridge of their nose, broken stitches leading to scar tissue blocking breathing passage, crooked nostrils.
This is my second review pertaining to Dr derosa nurse and staff . Her nurse is very knowledges and skilled . She has helped me out with attending to an injury and concerns I had and was very helpful. She always contacted me back and fit me in. Very knowledge and professional she showed lots of compassion. The front desk made sure to allow my concerns , fit. Me in and let me communicate with both doctor and nurse as it should be. When there are potential and real concerns. I am grateful for the support. Dr derosa has a good team . That’s critical .
Sincerely
Lea Nicolazzo
