Alan Edelstein, JD, CPA, had the courage to leave a promising young lawyer career to pursue his passion for accounting. Alan realized his dream on June 3, 1968, by founding Edelstein & Co. in a small office in the heart of downtown Boston. His vision was to start an auditing and tax practice. He and his two other original founding partners, Walter Goldstein, JD, CPA, and Jerry Jarasitis, CPA, knew rich individuals and families and owners of operations by exchanging information with them and understanding their problems. They wanted to develop timely, detailed, and accurate financial information and practical advice to help clients see their options and make the best decisions possible. We understand that tendering accurate, regular, and timely financial information is a necessary, non-negotiable quality of a successful company. Such activities enable management to review such financials periodically and measure profit and control cash flow, two essential management functions. In addition, owners and executives of companies can use accounting systems to produce desirable data, enabling them to make effective, informed decisions about their businesses and future growth opportunities.
