Lepke Auto Transport began moving cars in 1978 and remains a family-owned and operated business. In 1979, Jim Lepke founded Lepke Auto Transport in Rockford, Illinois, a small business that soon expanded into a network of affiliates and owner-operators. From there, Lepke Auto Transport began a cross-country auto transportation business in 1991 as the market for used cars and trucks boomed. By 2001, the internet had revolutionized the transport industry, allowing dealers to purchase autos online and electronically ship auto freight. This advancement in technology encouraged brokers to construct a market and let carriers efficiently process orders. Lepke Auto Transport grew by transporting cars for private individuals and brokering overflow cars to owners within a network. Tobias Lepke began running the company in 2008 when Jim retired. Lepke Auto Transportservice was now available in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and the Midwest. Jim Lepke retired from car shipping after running and managing car transport companies for 31 years in 2010. Lepke Auto Transport chose to work only with owners and not drivers, allowing them to manage Lepke equipment more efficiently. This shows our years of experience in the transport industry and as brokers. Lepke Auto Transport gives the personal touch necessary to ship vehicles.
