Thinking Cup is the only Downtown Boston coffee shop serving “Stumptown Coffee” and Third Wave Coffee. Stumptown Coffee, from Portland Oregon, was named the “Best Coffee in the World” by NPR, New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, and USA Today. We buy our beans from Stumptown in Brooklyn to guarantee the best quality and freshness. Thinking Cup opened its doors on the corner of Tremont and Bolyston on December 10th, 2010. A short walk from the Boston Common, Thinking Cup is the original French-inspired coffee bar and provides the best coffee and tea experience in Boston. We only serve freshly baked pastries, coffee, and tea of the highest quality.

Thinking Cup seems to have great reviews with the majority of reviewers loving the coffee. Most coffee drinkers mentioned the flavor from their favorite espresso drinks, from cortados to regular cups of joe. Also top of line are the pastries, especially the vegan options. The cafe is a favorite spot for several, and is conveniently located in the city. Many reviewers criticize the adverse effect it has when the place is crowded. They also disliked it when the noise made it difficult to have some self-time. Cafe lovers have identified a few issues with the vegetarian menus also which the place offers. Few positive reviews but none still advise visiting the cafe. Even the staff stood out, which illustrated the many positive feedback. They provide excellent customer service to everyone, no matter the long lines that are a sign of a good business. The only real negative for some people is that the breakfast menu was a little too sweet or greasy. A few individuals wanted a healthier breakfast option for their morning coffee break.
