Maryland Art Place Inc. (MAP) is a non-profit that seeks to challenge and transform the community through contemporary art. To accomplish this, MAP empowers artists to inspire critical thinking and creativity while recognizing the transformative nature of art. For over 40 years, MAP has accomplished its mission through various programs. MAP inspires through professional and emerging artist exhibitions, live performance series, and dynamic year-round programs. MAP started the year with optimism and innovation, focusing on bringing art and culture to the people. With a mission to charge and transform the community, MAP believes in promoting new ideas that encourage social elections and a healthy environment for artists to express themselves. MAP believes that Black Lives Matter, and the organization is committed to continuing to listen to and support Black artists. MAP acknowledges the need to boost the voices of Black artists in Maryland by committing to this effort and offering artists a richer and more dynamic environment. MAP supports artists and programs that reflect the entire artistic community and utilizes any available resources and programs to present information with integrity, fairness, and clarity.
