Animal Emergency

Animal Emergency was born from the vision of Dr. Shawn Wilson and was the only institution of its kind to offer emergency medical care for animals in Hagerstown. Dr. Wilson spent a long time studying, preparing, and collecting all the knowledge he could in order to make this idea possible. Dr. Wilson met with some local veterinarians in October 2007 to gauge the real interest in opening an emergency hospital. Due to their encouragement, as well as positive feedback after meeting with a veterinary consulting group, the company was able to open for emergencies exclusively in the fall of 2008 sharing space in Cumberland Valley Veterinary Clinic’s facility. The emergency hospital was open 24 hours on weekends only. Our team moved to its new 24-hour facility in Maugans Avenue by April 2010. With plenty of space and an extra three veterinarians, we started to see patients on holidays, weekends, and during the night. In addition, Mountain View Animal Emergency expanded to 24/7 operation back in the fall of 2016. Mountain View Animal Emergency is a team of guardians who offer loving emergency veterinary services to our community. We also provide their patients with special treatment and adjust their diagnosis while being informative about how their families can participate in their treatment process and keep up with their condition.
