Next Step Studio & Gallery

Kaiser Suidan owns and operates Next Step Studio & Gallery. The ceramicist started his ceramics studio in 2004 and opened the art gallery in 2006. Since the gallery's inception, the mission has been to identify and promote young, emerging artists that Kaiser believes need more representation. He includes these artists in the gallery's group shows and gives them the opportunity to exhibit their work in significant national shows such as SOFA Chicago or NYC. The gallery looks for new, young talent; Kaiser helps these artists take their first steps into the ever-changing art world. Next Space Ferndale is the gallery’s event space. Kaiser’s large extended family in Milford, Michigan, mostly raised him as a first-generation Lebanese. He has six brothers and one sister and inhabits a house erected by his grandfather. Kaiser’s love for organic forms, working in the soil, and gardening inspired his working with the clay at Fordsen Junior High. Through high school, Kaiser collected numerous ceramics awards. He continued his journey with a scholarship from College of Creative Studies, where he graduated with honors in 1993. Kaiser started his life over two decades ago when he opened his studio in the basement of his home. Kaiser has grown over the years as an artist and entrepreneur. He has progressively gained more titles, such as gallery owner, instructor, and curator. His office is at his commercial building, and his gallery is at Next Step Studio and Gallery. Kaiser represents other artists in the United States who are looking for the next steps on their artistic journey. While Kaiser's clay passion is evident, his spectrum today includes other media.
