Mary M Morin, a Minneapolis worker's compensation lawyer is highly experienced. It doesn't matter what the circumstance surrounding your accident or injury is, it is important that you receive all of the benefits you have. You are likely to feel a lot of pain and emotional pressure after an injury. You don't want to have to worry about how you are going to pay the bills or what you will do for your family if your income is not coming in. A worker's compensation lawyer can give you the peace of mind that your case will be handled properly and your injury treated fairly. There will be no denials, frauds, or underpayments. My clients are concerned about whether or not they can support their families on this claim. You are losing your weekly income if you can't work. You may suddenly find yourself without enough money to buy groceries, fuel, childcare, or rent. There are also other expenses such as rehabilitation, hospital costs, and medication costs. You shouldn't have to pay for an accident at work.

This calculator adds two numbers. Back pay is the monthly benefit your policy should have paid (after any SSDI offset) multiplied by the months it has been unpaid. Future benefits are the same monthly amount until benefits normally end at age 65, converted to today's value with a discount rate. Insurers rarely pay the full future value in a lump sum, so the estimate also shows the range buyouts typically land in, which depends on whether you are still being paid, were cut off, or were denied from the start.
General information about Minnesota disability insurance law, not legal or tax advice. The estimate is not a guarantee: your policy wording, medical evidence, offsets and the insurer's position all change the answer. A disability lawyer can tell you how these rules apply to you.
