Miel Casgna-Herrera & Curtis Herrera have a unique idea. Customers can visit our friendly, comfortable, and enjoyable seats to relax, socialize, or work. The owners were inspired by their relatives. Miel’s father Alberto Jose Castagna was their hero. He is from the suburbs of Buenos Aires. His emigration to America began at age 16. As a man full of natural talent and love for Yerba-Mate, he always celebrated life and everything the Spanish-speaking and Latin American countries have to offer. His life is a true testament to everything wonderful about the continent. Curtis Herrera's grandparents Felipa and Aniseto established this family. They moved to the U.S. from Guadalajara, Mexico, in the 1930s. They pursued work at Western Kansas Dairy and as farmworkers. Even though life was tough, poverty could not take away their love for family and culture. They would host large family gatherings that were full of love, taste, and tradition. They appreciate the vibrant and rich Latinx culture with its plethora of foods, music, languages, and histories. Their enthusiasm for and appreciation of cultural intersections inspired and still inspire them. Cafe Corazon aims to capture and channel all this beauty and passion.
