About this business

Academy of Scholars Performing Arts School provides micro-school for students in 4th-8th grades. A micro-school means students are grouped together across grade levels. This approach is led by qualified teachers. A range of students is available for this program. We provide unique academic resources and projects to ensure 21st-century education. We use gamified learning. Students may also engage in real-life projects. The environment is flexible and self-paced. Both Full School and Leadership Academy programs are offered. Leadership Academy students can take S.T.E.A.M. and American Sign Language lessons. Furthermore, our tutoring program includes diagnostic tests and math-reading evaluations. Our priority is a comprehensive approach to S.T.E.M. leadership, performing arts, and integrated curricula. We are also committed to a culture of meaningful learning and academic excellence. We use this approach to build the best micro-schools. The Eclectic Homeschool model combines individualized learning with a mix of resources, pedagogies, and curricula. This model is customized to match student readiness levels, interests, and learning styles. This year, expect your child to learn through individual activities, small group work, and large group instruction. We partner with caregivers and parents as well as the community. In addition, we forge close relationships between schools and homes, as well as teachers and parents, to promote student learning. We offer highly qualified instructors who provide one-on-one and group instruction. Moreover, they utilize hands-on activities and lessons, which provide opportunities for students to engage with their imaginations. Students are taught by doing and creating, rather than by listening to lectures.

Reviews Summary

Dr. Shavers-Hill is a well-loved educator whose students and parents praise her dedication. They describe a teacher who never gives up on anyone who is struggling. Cam and Hill support each child in school while communication with parents help to shape the child's educational path. Special-needs kids are especially catered for by both teachers. A parent whose child has ADHD noted that the child had been attending a class until the end of the day. He says she loves the classes and is looking forward to the next summer vacation. Many parents noted that the school does not positively support their development. Many parents seem to be in agreement that this was their best decision concerning the children's education. These parents hope that their children's good experience will continue. In a few years, there will be a student who will appreciate how much it affected him/her. Parents are encouraged to remember that their children are in good hands when they entrust them with Dr. Shavers-Hill.
