About this business

Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis is a place where people can grow, enhance their lives, and find their creativity and curiosity through contemporary art experiences. Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis’s mission is to connect people with the best and most innovative of today’s contemporary art. Our space is open for everyone to visit and learn from art. The Museum provides a platform for local artist exhibitions and expressions. The gallery space shows work made for today’s audience. This art can reflect the world and help us to see the world’s biggest problems. Contemporary art can change quickly and sometimes unexpectedly. The Museum can also be adaptive and responsive to the local art community and the global art world as they change and grow. CAM gives local and international artists an opportunity to exhibit their work and show their talent. Some local artists who have shown at CAM have gone on to have national and international careers. Others who have shown internationally have recently gained attention from St. Louisans. The CAM website is a place for discovery and engagement with contemporary visual culture. CAM also inspires people by teaching more than 100 programs each year, most of them free. Our Youth Program reaches students in St. Louis Public Schools. Most of the students live just one mile from the Museum, so we want to give them extra attention. CAM’s programs encourage creativity and critical thinking among our young citizens by allowing students to work closely with artists in New Art in the Neighborhood and LEAP Middle School Initiative. Teen Museum Studies allows young participants to learn about their careers by experiencing the Museum’s inner workings and creating an exhibition. CAM’s programs are free, so they make a lasting impact on local students and citizens.
