About this business

Spot, Inc. was established in 2009 by Andy Schenck and Andrew Elsener. Both founders independently financed and invested in the business. The company founders wanted to avoid the traditional brokerage model to transport commodity freight. Spot's success over the last ten years in expanding the organization is due to their unique approach to freight transfer and commitment. Spot's logistics specialists build high-quality supply chains and long-term connections. In this situation, we use technology to see the number of carriers each one can handle. By evaluating their locations, we give carriers a rank. We can match carriers and loads by knowing where they will be. Technology also lets us know which carriers are acceptable for shipping. However, this would not be feasible without our carrier network. This network consists of more than 50,000 carriers. Thus we prioritize them. Our carrier salespeople are in charge of managing these relationships. They are accountable for ensuring all carriers maintain certain requirements.

Reviews Summary

The sentiment reflects that reviewers see Spot as a helpful, supportive, and professional company with an excellent workplace culture. A majority of the reviews appreciate Spot's ability as a third-party logistics provider -note that Spot transports food products- and how they can haul goods from point A to point B without errors. However, some complain about the unresponsiveness of Spot, citing one's inability to reach them. Most reviews are seen as internal employee reviews; they extol Spot as a great employer, with some employees stating that they see Spot as the best place to work for and refer it to anyone seeking jobs. Management receives a lot of praise for being able to mentor and help their teams have a better work-life balance. Spot customers claim that they rarely encounter problems, suggesting how Spot is instrumental in taking away their concerns. This can be best described as a company with high employee satisfaction.

I truly don't understand why Mattew is treating his carriers this way. I worked with great people at spot. For 3 days I called about a load listed on the load board. He made me believe that he was going to send the load and never sent it. This happens 3 times. Again, I have worked with great honest people but never have I been ghosted 3 times. I don't believe Matthew value carries. He sets behind a desk with no customer service.
