You will refresh your driving knowledge with a course approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. You may be able to reduce your driving record point total by up to two points if you have violations on your driving record. You can reduce your base insurance rates for both your autos and motorcycles by 10% every year for three years if you take a course. The course length is 320 minutes of classroom time. The course may be given in a single or several sessions. It must contain essential traffic safety information. The course must include driver behavior and attitude, defensive driving, Vehicle & Traffic Law, and defensive driving techniques. The course does not include a formal test, and you are technically required to buy the completion certificate.
