Dr. Michael Brustein, Psy.D.

Dr. Michael Brustein, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist in New York City who provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and adolescents in his private NYC practice. At the Albert Einstein Medical School, Dr. Brustein is an adjunct professor. He teaches classes on psychotherapy and abnormal psychology at William Paterson University and Brooklyn College. He also teaches courses on group therapy and general psychotherapy. At Montefiore Medical Center, he worked as an attending psychologist. He also supervised psychology interns and medical residents at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, where he conducted suicide prevention studies and mentored them. Dr. Brustein is the author of Perfectionism: A Guide for Mental Health Professionals. This book was one of the first to focus on how clinicians could treat perfectionist patients.
