The Prince Street Gallery is situated in the heart of Chelsea, just beside the renowned Highline in Manhattan, New York. The gallery displays contemporary art at pristine levels. Representational and abstract art are emphasized, with a focus on drawing, painting, printing, collage, and printmaking. The gallery organizes exhibitions for artists it represents, invited guest artists, and an annual juried exhibit. Previous jurors include Philip Pearlstein and William Bailey, Irving Sandler. Yvonne Jacquette was also a juror.
Prince Street Gallery was founded when a few mostly NYC artists met at the Alliance of Figurative Artists. They exhibited their first display in June 1970. It has since grown to include primarily abstract and representational artworks. The Gallery moved to 530 West 25th Street in 2001, where it stayed until the pandemic. The Gallery reopened at 547 West 27 Street Suite 504 New York in May 2021.
The Gallery continues to show high-quality contemporary art. Art in America and Brooklyn Rail have featured the Gallery's shows. Artcritical.com has reviewed some of them.
