ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

The SCPA school is the perfect solution for students who want to be successful artists, in that it provides a school that includes the discipline and rigorous training needed to succeed in any visual and performing arts. This philosophy is reflected in our SCPA Arts Curriculum. We have all the resources we need to inspire, teach and train our students to succeed as artists and learners. Arts Program The SCPA arts program is one of the best in America. Primary arts instruction includes drama, vocal and instrumental music, and visual and performing arts. The school's Suzuki Strings program is a specialized music study for K-3 grades. Each grade performs a musical variety performance during the school year. Our arts program covers grades 4-12 and includes intensive preprofessional training in seven major areas: creative writing, drama, instrumental music, vocal music, technical theatre, visual art, and dance. After graduation, SCPA's students in the arts receive both a CPS High School Diploma and an SCPA Artististic Diploma. Grades 9-12 arts students will earn Ohio Career Technical Education. This will help them be fully prepared for careers in the art industry. SCPA students get quality instruction from highly-qualified professional performers and teachers. High school orchestra students collaborate with professional musicians with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The Corbett Foundation Strings Artists in Residence Program helps students hone their similarities and string quartet playing. Thanks to a Corbett Foundation endowment, SCPA has brought in some of the most prominent musicians in the world. Mayerson Artistic Excellence Program The SCPA is very fortunate to be part of the Mayerson Artsistic Excellence Program. High school students can also get a chance to collaborate with international musicians through a Mayerson Foundation grant. SCPA's Mayerson Artistic Excellence program brings in some of the most popular musicians, writers, visual artists, actors, and singers to SCPA to entertain, inspire, and interact with our students.
