Reliable Rodney Mohr, the master bow maker, has been active for 37 years. For making bows and mastering the art, Rodney is a Master of Bow Making. He is affiliated with the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. Rodney is one of America's best bow makers who has made over 1,100+ of his own bows and repaired countless more. For over 25 years, Rodney has been one of the nation's best bow makers. As the former Co-Director of the Violin Society of America's prestigious Oberlin Bow Restoration Workshop, Rodney taught many students the art of bow making and restoration. Rodney has also taught at the North Bennett Street School in Boston and has performed at the Chicago School of Violin Making where he is an alumnus and serves on the board of directors. Rodney has been an international competitor, winning significant awards at the Violin Society of America International Competitions and the Concours International de Paris. Rodney has been awarded the VSA's distinction as Hors Concours. He has been the president of both the Violin Society of America and the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. Rodney is also the director of Learning Trade Secrets, a new business dedicated to learning the secrets of the artisans to improve their crafts and lives. The desire to create a NuBow from bamboo is one of Rodney's current ventures. Rodney's patented method will produce bows made of readily available material all over the world.
